Mixing with People and Good Conduct
Hadith 27902
٢٧٩٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت عن ميمون بن أبي شبيب قال: قال صعصعة لابن أخيه: إني كنت أحب إليّ أبيك منك، (فأنت) (١) أحب إليّ من (ابني) (٢)، إذا لقيت المؤمن فخالطه، وإذا لقيت الفاجر فخالفه.
Hazrat Maymun bin Abu Shabib narrates that Hazrat Sa’sa’ah said to his nephew: Surely, I am more beloved to your father than you are. And you are more beloved to me than my own son. When you meet a believer, live with him in harmony, and when you meet a sinner, treat him with good manners.
Hadith 27903
٢٧٩٠٣ - حدثنا محمد بن عبيد عن الأعمش عن يحيى بن وثاب عن رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "المؤمن الذي يخالط الناس، ويصبر على أذاهم، أفضل من (المؤمن) (١) الذي (لا) (٢) يخالط الناس ولا يصبر على أذاهم" (٣).
Hazrat Yahya bin Wathab narrates from a companion of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: That believer who lives among people and is patient over their troubles is superior to the one who neither lives among people nor is patient over their troubles.
Hadith 27904
٢٧٩٠٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن حبيب بن أبي ثابت (عن عبد اللَّه بن باباه) (١) قال: قال عبد اللَّه بن مسعود: خالطوا الناس وزايلوهم وصافحوهم، ودينكم (لا) (٢) (تكلمونه) (٣) (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Bah says: Meet with people and separate from them. And shake hands with them, but do not discuss your religion with them.
