Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sa'd and Hazrat Abu Bakrah, both of these noble companions say that our ears heard and our hearts preserved this statement that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes someone to other than his (real) father, while he knows that he is not his father, then Paradise is forbidden for that person.

Hazrat Mujahid narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported a marfu’ hadith that whoever attributes someone to other than his (real) father, he will never smell the fragrance of Paradise. When Na’eem bin Abi Umayyah saw this matter, at a time when Hazrat Muawiyah intended to attribute him to other than his (real) father, he said to Hazrat Muawiyah: Surely, I am an arrow from your quiver; throw me wherever you wish.

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever associates himself with anyone other than his master, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.

Hazrat Amr bin Khariyah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people while he was mounted on his riding animal, and the animal was chewing its cud and its saliva was flowing between its shoulders. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes himself to someone other than his (real) father, or whoever establishes a relationship with someone other than his master, then the curse of Allah is upon him. None of his obligatory or voluntary acts of worship will be accepted.

Hazrat Saeed bin Zaid narrates that I bear witness to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that I heard him say: Whoever appoints a client as a master without the permission of his (original) master, upon him is the curse of Allah.

Hazrat Abu Ma'mar narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr said: Whoever attributes himself to another family, leaving his own lineage, has committed disbelief.

Hazrat Abu Umamah Bahili narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever attributes someone to other than his (real) father, and whoever attributes himself to anyone other than his master, upon him is the continuous curse of Allah until the Day of Judgment.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes himself to someone other than his (real) father, or whoever associates himself with someone other than his master, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.
