Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar says that the skill in eloquence which I possess, I do not wish to have as much wealth and family as that; I do not wish it. And people do not think that I desire to have for myself the like of my family and dependents, and I desire to have for myself the like of my family and wealth, then the like of my family and wealth.

Hazrat Abu Usman narrates that Hazrat Umar said: You save a man from lying, or he said: You save him from the shame of lying.

Hazrat Mutarrif bin Shukhair narrates that Hazrat Imran bin Husain said: Through caution, one can be saved from lying.

Hazrat Mansur narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: I do not like that in exchange for a dirham of usury, I should have so much and so much wealth.

Hazrat Mansur narrates that Ibrahim said: The Companions used to speak in such a manner that, through that speech, they would remove the fear of lying from themselves.

Humaid bin Abdur Rahman says that I do not desire that there should be any twisting of words for me, like my wealth and my family. You think that I do not like that I should have the like of my family and my wealth, but I desire that I should have the like of my family and my wealth.
