What to say when entering an empty house
Hadith 27503
٢٧٥٠٣ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن عمرو عن عكرمة قال: إذا دخلت بيتا ليس فيه أحد فقل: السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين.
Hazrat Amr narrates that Hazrat Ikrimah said: When you enter a house in which there is no one, then say: (As-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadillahis-saliheen) Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
Hadith 27504
٢٧٥٠٤ - حدثنا حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن هشام (بن) (١) سعد عن نافع عن ابن عمر في الرجل يدخل (في) (٢) البيت أو (في) (٣) المسجد ليس فيه أحد، قال: يقول: السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين (٤).
Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding the person who enters a house or a mosque and finds no one there, said: That person should say: (As-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadillahis-saliheen).
Hadith 27505
٢٧٥٠٥ - [حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: قل: السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين] (١).
Ibrahim says: Say this: Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
Hadith 27506
٢٧٥٠٦ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبي سنان عن ماهان في قوله (تعالى) (١): ﴿فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتًا فَسَلِّمُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ (تَحِيَّةً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُبَارَكَةً طَيِّبَةً) (٢)﴾ [النور: ٦١] قال: (تقول) (٣): السلام علينا من ربنا.
Hazrat Abu Sinan narrates that Hazrat Mahan, regarding the saying of Allah, the Lord of Majesty: { فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُیُوتًا فَسَلِّمُوا عَلَی أَنْفُسِکُمْ تَحِیَّۃً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللہِ مُبَارَکَۃً طَیِّبَۃً }, stated as follows: That person should greet in this way: (As-Salaamu 'Alayna min Rabbina) "Peace be upon us from our Lord."
Hadith 27507
٢٧٥٠٧ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن عبد الكريم عن مجاهد قال: [تقول: السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين.
Hazrat Abdul Kareem says that Hazrat Mujahid used to say: Peace be upon us, and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
Hadith 27508
٢٧٥٠٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عبد الكريم عن مجاهد] (١) قال: إذا دخلت بيتًا ليس فيه (أحد) (٢) فقل: بسم اللَّه؛ الحمد للَّه؛ السلام علينا وعلى عباد اللَّه الصالحين.
Hazrat Abdul Kareem narrates that Hazrat Mujahid said: When you enter a house where there is no one, then say: "I enter with the name of Allah. All praise is for Allah. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah."
Hadith 27509
٢٧٥٠٩ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن عبد الملك عن عطاء قال: إذا لم (يكن) (١) فيه أحد فقل: السلام علينا (٢) من ربنا.
Hazrat Abdul Malik narrates that Hazrat Ata said: When there is no one at home, say this: "As-salamu 'alayna min rabbina." Peace be upon us from our Lord.
