Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Umamah narrates that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to spread the greeting of peace (salaam).

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muslim has a right over another Muslim that whenever he meets him, he should greet him with Salam.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Worship the Most Merciful and spread peace.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, people hurriedly came to his service and it was being said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has arrived. He says that I also came along with the people so that I could see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When I saw the radiant face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I recognized that surely this face is not the face of a liar, and the very first thing I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say was: "O people! Spread peace (salaam)."

Hazrat Bara bin Azib narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to spread the greeting of peace (salaam).

Hazrat Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you have faith, and you will not have faith until you love one another. Shall I not guide you to something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread the greeting of peace among yourselves.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, there are lofty chambers in Paradise whose exterior is visible from their interior and their interior is visible from their exterior. Upon this, a Bedouin stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! For whom will these lofty chambers be?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: They will be for the person who speaks pure words, feeds others, spreads greetings of peace, and prays at night when people are asleep.

Hazrat Zubair narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Shall I not inform you of something which, if you do it, you will love one another?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Spread peace (greetings of salam) among yourselves."

Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Surely, Salam is one of the names of Allah, so spread it.

Hazrat Mujahid narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: I used to go to this market even though I had no need, only for the reason that I may offer greetings (salaam) and that I may be replied to with greetings.

Hazrat Abu Usman narrates that Hazrat Abu Hurairah said: Indeed, the most miserly among people is the one who is miserly in greeting (with Salam).
