Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to beat his son when he made a mistake.

Hazrat Umar bin Zaid narrates that Hazrat Umar wrote a letter to Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari and said: After praise and blessings, you people should gain understanding in the Sunnah, and also gain understanding in the Arabic language.

Hazrat Yahya bin Abi Kathir states that Hazrat Sulaiman bin Dawood said to his son: Whoever wants to anger his enemy should not raise the stick against his own children.

Ibn Aun narrates that Muhammad said: The Companions used to say, "Honor your child and teach him good manners."

Hazrat Ibn Aun states that Hazrat Imam Muhammad was asked about this matter. He replied: I do not consider there to be any harm in it if there is no rebellion involved.
