Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sudair narrates that I was with Hazrat Abu Ja'far. When I intended to mount my ride, he held the reins and said: "Do you not like that I receive reward? And there is no harm in it."

Hazrat Aamir narrates that Hazrat Umar called Zaid bin Suhan, then made him mount a ride just as you people make your leaders mount, then he turned towards the people and said: You people should treat Zaid and his companions in this manner.

Hazrat Mujahid says that sometimes Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) or Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would hold the reins of my mount.

Hazrat Abu Qais says: I saw Ibrahim, who was one-eyed, and he was holding the reins of Hazrat Alqama's mount. The narrator says: I think he mentioned it was on a Friday.

Hazrat Mahdi bin Maimoon says that Hazrat Abdullah bin Sabeeh Hanafi went to mount his ride when a man held the reins, so he said that Hazrat Mutarrif used to say: I will not stop any of my brothers who wishes to honor me; let him honor me.

Hazrat Ghalib Qattan says that one day I intended to ride a donkey, so Hazrat Shu'aib came and held the reins. I asked Hasan about this? He said: Accept your brother's honor.
