Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates that Hazrat Amr bin Bileel passed by me while I was sleeping in a date orchard in the morning. He nudged me with his foot and said: Are you sleeping at a time when Allah’s servants are dispersed (engaged in their activities)?

Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair states that his father, Hazrat Zubair, used to prevent his sons from sleeping in the morning, and Hazrat Urwah said: Indeed, I heard about a man who used to sleep in the morning, that you considered him insignificant.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Farukh narrates that Hazrat Talha bin Ubaidullah passed by his son while he was sleeping in the morning. He struck him lightly on the head and forbade him from sleeping.

Hazrat Abu Sufyan narrates that Hazrat Ibn Zubair and Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair met each other and had a discussion. Then one of them said to the other, "Do you know that the earth cries out to its Lord about the sleep of the scholars?"

Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair narrates that Hazrat Zubair said: Indeed, I consider a person who sleeps in the morning to be insignificant.

Hazrat Ubaidullah says that Hazrat Salim did not sleep in the morning and used to sleep very little.

This hadith is also narrated from Hazrat Ubaidullah with this chain of transmission.
