Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ma'shar narrates regarding Ibrahim that he, along with Hazrat Alqama and Hazrat Aswad, used to visit the noble wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and they would see them in red blankets. The narrator says that Ibrahim did not see anything objectionable regarding (the use of) dyed (red) cloth.

Hazrat Laith, Hazrat Tawus, Hazrat Ata, and Hazrat Mujahid narrate that all these personalities saw no harm for women in wearing the color red.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaika that he said: I saw on Hazrat Umm Salamah a shirt and a sheet, both of which were dyed with a strong (bright) usfur.

It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to wear dyed (with safflower) clothes even when she was in the state of Ihram.

It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to wear safflower-dyed clothes like the color of a rose while she was in the state of Ihram.

It is narrated from Hazrat Tamim Khuza'i that he says an elderly woman told us. She said that Hazrat Umar said: Leave these glittering things for women.

It is narrated from Hazrat Fatimah bint Munzir that Hazrat Asma used to wear dyed clothes even though she was in the state of Ihram.

Hazrat Abu Ma'shar narrates about Hazrat Sa'id bin Jubair that he saw some of the pure wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah, while they were wearing clothes dyed with safflower.

Hazrat Muammar narrates regarding Hazrat Zuhri that he did not see any harm for women in wearing clothes dyed with 'mu'asfar' (a kind of red dye).

Ismail narrates from his sister, Hazrat Sakinah, who says: I went with my mother to the house of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and I saw Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) wearing a red shirt and a black scarf.
