Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Zainab, the wife of Hazrat Abu Saeed, that she says: Hazrat Abu Saeed used to see us while we were eating locusts, so he neither forbade us nor did he himself eat it. But I do not know whether his action was due to aversion to eating it or because he disliked it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Marjana, he says that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) did not use to eat locusts. (The narrator says) I asked, what prevents you from eating it? He replied: I feel disgusted by it.

Ibrahim narrates regarding Hazrat Alqamah that he did not use to eat locusts.

Hazrat Nafi narrates regarding Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that he did not eat locusts because he found them repugnant.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Usman that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the locust. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is the most numerous among the armies of Allah. I neither eat it nor do I forbid it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ka'b, he says that the locust is the product of the sneeze of a fish.

Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father, who says: This is the sneeze of the fish.
