Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Azdi, who says: I said to Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): We travel, and during this we pass by shepherds, children, and women, and they feed us meat, but we do not know the type of that meat. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Whatever food Muslims feed you, eat it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah, he says that when you go to your Muslim brother and he offers you something to eat, then eat it and do not ask questions. So if he gives you something to drink, then drink it and do not ask him questions. Then if anything in it causes you doubt, then mix water into it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar Ansari, who says that I heard Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say: When you go to a person about whom you do not suspect anything regarding his stomach, then eat from his food and drink from his drink.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir, he says that whatever you find in a Muslim's house, you may eat it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, he says that we went to a shepherd who had invited us for a meal. He brought nabidh to us. I disliked it, but Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)… the narrator Abu Bakr says, it is possible that he was Ibn Husain bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)… took it and then drank it and said: When you go to any of your Muslim brothers, eat from his food and drink from his drink.

Hazrat Musa bin Umair says that I heard Hazrat Sha'bi say: When you go to a Muslim's house, eat from his food and drink from his drink.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She says that the companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The Bedouins bring us meat, about which we do not know what it is? Whether the name of Allah has been mentioned over it or not?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite 'Bismillah' over it and eat (it)."
