Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha’labah Khushani. He says: I submitted, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We fight in the land of the enemy and we need their utensils. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As much as possible, avoid using those utensils, and if you do not find any other utensils besides those, then wash them and eat and drink from them."

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He says that we used to perform jihad in the land of the polytheists along with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And we did not refrain from eating from the food utensils of the polytheists and drinking from their drinking vessels.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sirin that he says: The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to prevail over the polytheists and would eat from their food utensils and drink from their drinking vessels.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Naji that Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water. So a peasant brought to him a vessel used for drinking alcohol, in which there was alcohol. He washed it and then drank water from it.

Hazrat Ibn Aun narrates about Hazrat Ibn Sirin that he disliked the use of the utensils of the disbelievers. However, if people had no other option, then they should wash those utensils and cook in them.

It is narrated from Hasan, he says that when you need to use the utensils and pots of the Magians, then wash them and cook in them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar bin Waleed bin Shubi, he says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair about the pots of the Magians. So he said: Wash them and cook in them.
