Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Qaboos narrates from his father that a woman asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). She said: We have some Magian midwives. And when their festival comes, they give us gifts? So Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Yes. If something is slaughtered for that day, do not eat it, but you may eat from their trees.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah that some Magians used to reside with him. And those Magians would present gifts to Hazrat Abu Barzah on the occasions of Nowruz and Mehrjan. So Abu Barzah used to say to his family: Whatever is from the category of fruits, you may eat it, and whatever is other than that, you should return it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Wa'il and Ibrahim. Both of them say that when the Muslims arrived, they found among the food of the Magians, their cheese and their bread. So they ate from it and did not ask about any of those things.

Hazrat Hisham narrates regarding Hasan that he disliked that food cooked by Magians in their pots should be eaten. And he saw no harm in eating from their foods except for the following items: bread, ghee, chutney, strained milk, or milk.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that he said: There is no harm in (eating) the bread of the Magians.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid, he says: Do not eat anything from the food of the Magians except for fruits.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Barzah. He says: We were on one of our jihad journeys when we encountered some people from among the polytheists. So we drove them back from their campfire and we entered it, and we began to eat the (prepared) food from it. And we had heard in the days of ignorance that whoever eats this bread becomes fat. So when we ate these breads, each one of us began to look to his right and left to see whether he had become fat.

It is narrated from Hasan and Muhammad. Both of these gentlemen say that the polytheists used to bring clarified butter in their vessels, and the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and other Muslims would buy it and eat it, and we also used to eat it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mansoor, he says that I asked Ibrahim about mountain ghee. He replied: I prefer Arabic ghee more than this. And we used to eat mountain ghee as well.

Hazrat Ibn Aun narrates about Muhammad that he did not see any harm in mountain ghee.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Usman, he says that we used to eat ghee but we did not eat fat. And we did not inquire about the utensils.

It is narrated from Muhammad that Hazrat Amir bin Abdullah disliked the ghee that came from that place ... mountain, mountainous region ... and saw no harm in the ghee that came from here ... forest ...

Hazrat Hisham narrates regarding Hasan that he did not see any harm in eating clarified butter mixed with water.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Razin. He says that the earlier people used to transport mountain ghee with the water of cheese.
