Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hakam narrates about Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila that he used to consider eating rabbit as disliked.

Hazrat Abi Makin narrates about Hazrat Ikrimah that he disliked (eating) rabbit.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates regarding Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) or Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he disliked (eating) rabbit.

Hazrat Hibban bin Jaz’, narrates from his brother Hazrat Khuzaymah bin Jaz’ that he said: I submitted, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have come to you with the intention of asking about the land-dwelling creatures that are hunted. What do you say about the hare? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I neither eat it nor declare it unlawful." I said: The thing which you have not declared unlawful, may I eat it? Why, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has been told to me that it sheds blood (it menstruates)."
