Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir. He says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed 'Aqiqah on behalf of Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ikrimah. He says that the aqeeqah of Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain was performed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed a goat as 'aqiqah on behalf of Hasan. And he said, "O Fatimah! Shave his head and give charity equal to the weight of his hair." So they weighed the hair, and its weight was a dirham or a few dirhams.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Rafi. He says that Hazrat Fatimah asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Should I not shed blood for the 'aqiqah of my son?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No, shave his head and give charity to the poor in silver equal to the weight of his hair, whether it is melted or unmelted."

It is narrated from Muhammad. He says that if I come to know that my 'Aqiqah was not performed, then I will perform my own 'Aqiqah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Ibrahim. He says that the command for 'Aqiqah will be given, even if the 'Aqiqah is performed with a bird.

It is narrated from Hazrat Samurah. He says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A child is pledged for his 'aqiqah which is sacrificed on his behalf."

It is narrated from Hazrat Salman bin Amir that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Indeed, ‘aqiqah is performed for the child. So, shed blood on his behalf and remove harm from him."

A man from Banu Dhumrah narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about ‘Aqiqah. He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allah does not like disobedience (to father and mother). Whoever among you has a child born to him and he wishes to offer a sacrifice on his behalf, then he should certainly do so.”
