Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ghailan bin Yazid. He says that Hazrat Abu Ubaidah was invited to a wedding feast. Then a drink was presented to him. So he gave that drink to the one on his right side.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ikrimah. He says that a drink was brought to Hazrat Umar while he was standing at Arafah on the night of Arafah. So he drank that drink, then he gave that drink to the chief of the people of Yemen who was on his right side. That chief said, "I am fasting." Hazrat Umar said, "I swear to you that you should break your fast yourself and also order your companions to break their fast."

It is narrated from Hazrat Zuhri that he heard Hazrat Anas say: When the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived, I was ten years old. And when the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away, I was twenty years old. And my mothers used to encourage me to serve the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. So the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us in our house, and we milked one of our domesticated goats for him and mixed it with water from our household well. Hazrat Abu Bakr was on his left side, and a Bedouin was on his right side. And Hazrat Umar was on one side. So Hazrat Umar submitted: O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! Give it to Hazrat Abu Bakr. But the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave it to the Bedouin and said, "The one on the right, then the one on the right," (meaning he is entitled to it.)
