On Cutting the Uvula (Throat Flap)
Hadith 25186
٢٥١٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أزهر عن ابن عون قال: كان محمد يكره قطع اللهاة، ولا أراه كرهه (إلا) (١) لشيء من الدين.
It is narrated from Ibn Aun who says that Muhammad disliked cutting the crow of the throat, and in my opinion, there was no religious reason for his dislike.
Hadith 25187
٢٥١٨٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن (المسعودي) (١) (عن) (٢) سهل (أبي) (٣) (الأسد) (٤) عن عبد اللَّه بن عتبة، قال: جاء (ظئر) (٥) لنا إلى عبد اللَّه بصبي لهم قد سقطت لهاته، (فأرادوا) (٦) أن يقطعوها، فقال: ابن مسعود لا تقطعوها، ولكن إن كان في أجله تأخير برأ، وإلا لم تكونوا قطعتموها (٧).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Utbah, he says that our wet nurse brought her child to Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), whose uvula had fallen down, and those people intended to cut the fallen uvula. Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Do not cut it. Yes, if his death is delayed, he will recover; otherwise, if you cut it, it will not be so.
