Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Thalabah bin Hakam narrates that we found some goats belonging to the enemy, so we took them (plundered them). The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered the pots to be overturned, so we overturned the pots. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Plunder is not permissible.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting, plundering, and mutilation.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting and said: Whoever commits looting is not from among us.

Hazrat Kulayb narrates from a companion who says: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle. We became extremely hungry, and we found some goats, so we seized them before they were distributed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us in this state, leaning on his bow. He came to our pots and overturned them with his bow and said: Looted property is not more lawful than carrion. (The ruling for both is the same).

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person, while being a believer, can carry anything that is of honor and greatness in such a way that by carrying it, people’s eyes are drawn towards him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that whoever picked up a valuable item and because of that became notorious among the Muslims (i.e., everyone began to consider his action bad), then he is not from among us. The narrator says that I asked Abu az-Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) whether this is transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ? He (may Allah have mercy on him) replied, yes, it is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Raihanah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting.

It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Samurah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting and plundering.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khalid al-Juhani that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade looting, plundering, and mutilation.
