Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hakam was asked about selling a Syrian dinar in exchange for a Kufi dinar, and if there is an addition of one silver coin with the Syrian dinar, what is the ruling? He replied: There is no harm in it.

Hazrat Mujahid says: There is no harm in it.

Hazrat Mansur says that I asked Ibrahim about selling a Syrian dinar in exchange for a Kufi dinar with an addition of one silver coin; what is its ruling? He disliked it.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin was asked about selling one hundred mithqal for one hundred dinars and ten dirhams; he disliked it.

Ibrahim disliked that a Syrian dinar be sold for a Kufi dinar and one dirham, and there is no harm if a person owes some dinars, and he gives you a Syrian dinar, and in exchange for the excess buys something, and both of them do not separate until their transaction is completed.

Hazrat Musa bin Muslim narrates that I asked Hazrat Tawus, "What is the ruling on selling a dinar of full weight for a lighter dinar and a dirham?" He replied, "There is no harm in it."
