Fixing the Price in a Sale
Hadith 23607
٢٣٦٠٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن مبارك عن معمر عن الزهري أن النبي ﷺ مر بأعرابي يبيع شيئًا فقال: "عليك بأول السومة (أو بأول السوم) (١) فإن (الأرباح) (٢) مع السماح" (٣).
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a Bedouin who was selling something. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first price is binding upon you; indeed, profit is with ease and granting respite.
Hadith 23608
٢٣٦٠٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن مبارك عن عبد اللَّه بن عمرو (بن) (١) علقمة (عن) (٢) (ابن) (٣) أبي حسين قال: قال النبي ﷺ: "سيد السلعة أحق بالسوم" (٤).
The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The owner of the goods has more right to set the price.
Hadith 23609
٢٣٦٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن العمري عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: (ارثم) (١) (انفه) (٢) بالسوم (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: Affix the price on the nose of the animal (such as a horse, etc.).
