Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not go out of the city to meet a caravan of traders in order to buy their goods at a low price and then sell them at a higher price, and do not collect milk in the udders of a she-camel to sell her, and do not artificially raise the price of goods for one another.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) says: Do not buy from the farmer at a lower price before he reaches the market and then sell it ahead at a higher price.

Hazrat Iyas (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a decree of Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz was read out before us, in which it was written that do not go outside the city to meet the riders (in order to buy at a low price and sell at a higher price).

Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, says that we have been forbidden from going outside the city and buying goods from caravan people at a lower price. So if someone, despite this prohibition, goes outside the city and buys, then when the owner of that goods comes into the city, he will have the choice. (If he wishes, he can annul the first sale.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade going outside the city to buy goods from caravan people at a low price and then bringing them into the city to sell at a higher price.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not go outside the city to meet the caravan people in order to buy goods from them at a low price.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade going outside the city to buy goods at a low price and then bringing them into the city to sell at a higher price.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) says: Do not buy from the farmer at a lower price before he reaches the market and then sell it at a higher price.
