Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Hazrat Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) had dedicated his house for those of his daughters who were divorced.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had dedicated their house for divorced women.

Hazrat Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my house which is in Makkah Mukarramah, my sons and whoever wishes to stay there can stay.

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that dedicating something as waqf is like freeing (a slave); dedicating a house, land, etc. as waqf is for Allah Almighty alone.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) received land in Khaybar (from the spoils of war). He presented himself before the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: I have received land in Khaybar, and I have never acquired wealth more beloved to me than this. What do you command me regarding it? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: If you wish, keep the original land and give its produce as charity. So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave its produce as charity. The original land will neither be sold nor gifted, nor will it be inherited.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) presented himself in the noble service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted: I have dedicated my garden in the way of Allah; if I had the ability to keep it hidden, I would never have made it public. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Dedicate it for those among your family and relatives who are poor.

Hazrat Tawoos says: Do you not know that Hazrat Hajar al-Madari (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to eat well from his charity.
