Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim says that if a person marries his umm walad to his slave, and then she has children from him, those children will be under the same ruling as their mother; they will become free when she is freed, and they will remain slaves as long as she is a slave. When their master dies, they will become free.

Hazrat Sha'bi says regarding the children of an Umm Walad that they will become free when she is freed, and they will remain slaves as long as she is a slave.

Hasan says that when an umm walad is married and she gives birth to children, the ruling for her children will be the same as that of their mother.

Hazrat Hammad says that the ruling for the children of an umm walad will be the same as that of their mother.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the ruling for the children of an Umm Walad will be the same as that of their mother.

Hazrat Hoot narrates that a man usurped another person's umm walad and had children with her. While deciding this case, Hazrat Shurayh ruled that the children are under the status of their mother; the original owner can take service from them but cannot sell them.

Hazrat Zuhri says that the children of an umm walad are under the command of their mother; with her emancipation, they will become free, and as long as she remains a slave, they will remain slaves.

Hazrat Mak'hool says that the children of an umm walad are under the authority of their mother; when she is freed, they will also become free, and their owner, if he wishes, can sell them.

Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz made the children of Umm Walad slaves.
