Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says that this is false.

Hazrat Aamir says: Do not take extra compensation back with your goods.

Hazrat Mughira says that I asked Ibrahim about a man who buys a goat from another man, and before taking possession of the goat, he changes his mind and wants to cancel the sale. The seller refuses to cancel the sale and says, "If you give me one dirham, then I will agree to the cancellation." What is the ruling on this? He (Ibrahim) considered it disliked (makruh).

Ibrahim narrates that Alqamah sold a mount to a man. The buyer intended to return the mount and also give some dirhams along with it. Alqamah said to him, "This mount is ours, and what right do we have over your dirhams?"

Hazrat Aswad considered it undesirable to return the goods and also give dirhams along with them.

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid was asked that a man bought a shop or land, then he wants to annul the sale but the seller is not agreeable, then he leaves ten or twenty dirhams for the seller—what is the ruling on this? He replied that there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Sha'bi considered it undesirable to return an item and also give dirhams along with it.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib was asked that a man bought a camel, then regretted this transaction, so he returns the camel and also gives eight dirhams along with it. How is this? Hazrat Saeed replied that there is no harm in this; usury occurs in those things which are measured by volume or weight, or when they are eaten or drunk.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin says that two men came to Hazrat Shurayh and started a conversation. One of them said, "Bear witness that I have accepted my camel and thirty dirhams." Hazrat Shurayh remained silent. In my opinion, if he disliked this matter, he would have refused.

Hasan and Hazrat Ibn Sirin did not consider it objectionable if a person increased the price in a sale.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that there is no harm if a person buys a camel and then returns it along with some dirhams.

Hasan and Hazrat Ibrahim say that there is no harm if a person returns something along with dirhams.

Ibrahim says that when its condition has changed, then there is no harm in doing so.
