Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed by a donkey which had a mark on its face. He said, "Did I not forbid doing this? Allah Almighty has cursed the one who does so."

Hazrat Ikrimah narrates that the Prophet ﷺ forbade marking the face of an animal.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said that marking the face is disliked.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade marking the face.

Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me riding a donkey that had a mark between its eyes. He (the Prophet) disliked this act and spoke harshly about it.

Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade striking the face and marking the face.

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that neither should the face be struck nor should it be marked.

Hazrat Ikrimah states that marking the face has been prohibited.

Ibrahim says that it is disliked to brand an animal on the face, to strike it on the face, or to drag it by the feet towards the slaughterhouse.

It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Abi Kathir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Everyone has something worthy of respect; the thing worthy of respect for animals is their face."
