Those Who Permitted Eating Fish That Dies and Decays in the Sea
Hadith 20930
٢٠٩٣٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن علية عن خالد الحذاء عن معاوية بن قرة أن أبا أيوب وجد سمكة طافية فأكلها (١).
Hazrat Muawiyah bin Qurrah narrates that Hazrat Abu Ayyub saw a fish in the sea which had died and become spoiled, and he ate it.
Hadith 20931
٢٠٩٣١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن سفيان عن عبد الملك بن أبي (بشير) (١) عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس أنه قال: أشهد على أبي بكر أنه قال: السمكة الطافية على الماء حلال (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated with an oath the saying of Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the fish which floats on the surface of the water is lawful (halal).
Hadith 20932
٢٠٩٣٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا محمد بن يزيد عن أيوب عن قتادة عن ابن عمر أنه لم يكن يرى بالسمك الطافي (بأسًا) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to declare as lawful the fish that floats on the surface of the sea after dying.
