Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir says that do not eat the fish that dies in the sea and becomes spoiled.

Hazrat Qatadah and Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib have declared the fish that dies and decays in the sea as disliked (makruh).

Hazrat Khalid bin Muhammad only considered that fish to be disliked which dies in the sea and becomes spoiled.

Hazrat Abu Sha’sha’ considered fish that died and perished in the sea to be disliked, and he used to say that you may eat the one that has died recently.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abi Hazil narrates that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that I see many fish lying on the seashore, what is the ruling about them? Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied that eat the fish which is not spoiled.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that any animal that dies in the sea is considered carrion.

Ibrahim considered the fish that dies in the sea to be disliked, and said that if a fish gets caught in a man's net and dies, then it is permissible.

Hazrat Tawus forbade eating that fish which is found dead in the sea.

Hazrat Zuhri says that it is disliked to eat a fish from the sea that has died and become spoiled.

Ibrahim says that it is disliked to eat a fish that has died and decayed in the sea.
