Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) regarding hunting done through birds, hawks, or falcons, says that if you get the opportunity to slaughter the hunted animal, then eat it, and if you cannot slaughter it, then do not eat it.

Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says that whether it is a dog or a falcon, the ruling is the same for all; all of these are hunters.

Hazrat Khathimah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the shukra and the baz are both hunting birds.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) did not see any harm in hunting with a hawk or a falcon.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say that the hawk and the falcon are like the dog.

Hazrat Mujahid mentioned birds and dogs in the commentary of the Qur'anic verse { وَمَا عَلَّمْتُمْ مِنَ الْجَوَارِحِ مُکَلِّبِینَ }.
