Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if a man says to his wife, "If I come near you within a year, you are divorced," then if he comes near her before four months are completed, she will receive three divorces. And if he leaves her until four months have passed, the woman will become separated (bainah) with one divorce, and if the man wishes, he may marry her again, but he should not come near her before the year is completed.

Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that if he comes to her before the completion of four months, then she will receive three divorces, and if he leaves her until four months have passed, then she will become separated (bainah) with one divorce. And if he wishes, he can marry her, and before the completion of a year, he can have intercourse with her.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if he approaches her before the completion of four months, then three divorces will take place. And if he leaves her for four months, then she will become separated (bainah) with one divorce, and he cannot marry her again until less than the days of ila, that is, two or three months, have passed. Then he may marry her, but he should not approach her for a year. This was also the opinion of Hazrat Saeed (may Allah have mercy on him).
