Hadith 20344
Hazrat Sha'bi, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: If a man said to another man, "If you do not eat this morsel, then my wife is divorced," and in the meantime a cat came and ate that morsel, what is the ruling? He replied that his wife is divorced.

A man came to Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) and said that a man told his wife, "If you do not eat this thing, you will be divorced three times." Meanwhile, a cat came and ate that thing. What is the ruling on this? Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) replied, "He blocked the woman's way, so Allah blocked his way."
