If a Woman Leaves Her Husband's House in Disobedience, Is She Entitled to Maintenance?
Hadith 20146
٢٠١٤٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا أبو أسامة قال: نا سفيان عن طارق عن الشعبي أنه سئل عن امرأة خرجت من بيتها عاصية لزوجها ألها نفقة؟ قال: لا، وإن مكثت عشرين سنة.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a woman leaves the house in disobedience to her husband, will she receive maintenance? He replied: No, even if she stays outside for twenty years.
Hadith 20147
٢٠١٤٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا غندر عن شعبة قال: سألت الحكم عن امرأة خرجت من بيت زوجها عاصية، هل لها نفقة؟ قال: نعم.
Hazrat Shu’bah, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I asked Hazrat Hakam whether a woman who leaves the house in disobedience to her husband is entitled to maintenance. He replied, yes. I asked Hazrat Hammad, and he replied that she is not entitled to maintenance.
Hadith 20149
٢٠١٤٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا (بهز) (١) بن (أسد) (٢) عن أبي هلال عن هارون قال: سألت الحسن عن امرأة خرجت مراغمة لزوجها، لها نفقة؟ قال: لها (جوالق) (٣) من تراب.
Hazrat Haroon, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I asked Hazrat Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him, if a woman leaves the house in disobedience to her husband, will she receive maintenance? He replied that she will receive dust.
