Hadith 20042
٢٠٠٤٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن ابن أبي ليلى عن نافع عن ابن عمر ⦗٤٠٧⦘ أنه كان إذا طلق طلاقًا يملك الرجعة لم يدخل (حتى) (١) يستأذن (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that the man who has divorced his wife and still has the right to take her back, he should seek permission before going to her. Hazrat Sha’bi says that our companions used to say that he should inform her by the sound of his shoes.
Hadith 20044
٢٠٠٤٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبدة بن سليمان عن عبيد اللَّه (بن عمر) (١) عن نافع عن ابن عمر أنه طلق امرأته تطليقة أو تطليقتين فكان يستأذن عليها (٢).
Hazrat Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) had given his wife one or two divorces, and before going to her, he used to seek permission.
Hadith 20045
٢٠٠٤٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا جرير عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: تعتد المطلقة في بيت زوجها، ولا تكتحل (بكحل) (١) زينة، ولا يدخل عليها إلا بإذن، ولا يكون معها في بيتها.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that a divorced woman will observe her waiting period ('iddah) in her husband's house, and she will not apply kohl for adornment, and her husband may come to her only with her permission. And he will not be with her in her room.
Hadith 20046
٢٠٠٤٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا إسماعيل بن علية عن يونس عن الحسن أنه كان يقول: إذا دخل عليها (فليستأذن) (١) وليتنحنح، ولا (يغترنها) (٢) بدخول.
Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that when a man intends to go to his (divorced and observing 'iddah) wife, he should make her aware of his arrival and clear his throat to make a sound; he should not enter upon her suddenly without informing her.
Hadith 20047
٢٠٠٤٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا (عبد الأعلى) (١) عن معمر عن الزهري عن سعيد بن المسيب قال: إذا طلقها تطليقة فإنه يستأذن عليها.
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when a wife has been given one divorce, permission should be sought before going to her.
Hadith 20048
٢٠٠٤٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن سفيان عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) say that one should clear his throat to make his presence known.
Hadith 20050
٢٠٠٥٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن ربيع عن الحسن.
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says that he should clear his throat and make his presence known.
Hadith 20052
٢٠٠٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث عن هشام عن قتادة سئل عن رجل طلق امرأته تطليقة يستأذن عليها؟ قال: (يصوت ويتنحنح) (١).
Hazrat Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked that if a person gives one divorce to his wife, should he seek permission before coming to her? He replied that yes, he should call out and make a throat-clearing sound. And Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that it is not permissible for him to look at that woman's hair.
