Those Scholars Who Say the Waiting Period Begins the Day the Woman Learns of the Divorce or Death
Hadith 20022
٢٠٠٢٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا إسماعيل بن علية عن ليث عن الحكم أن عليًا قال: من يوم يأتيها الخبر (١).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) will begin from the day the woman receives the news.
Hadith 20023
٢٠٠٢٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن الحارث عن علي قال: (من) (١) يوم يأتيها الخبر (٢).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) will begin from the day the woman receives the news.
Hadith 20024
٢٠٠٢٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن أبي الأشهب عن الحسن قال: تعتد من يوم يأتيها الخبر.
Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the woman will begin her waiting period (iddah) from the day she receives the news.
Hadith 20025
٢٠٠٢٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن علية عن أيوب عن قتادة [قال: من يوم يأتيها الخبر.
Hazrat Qatadah says that the woman will begin her 'iddah from the day she receives the news.
Hadith 20026
٢٠٠٢٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الأعلى عن يونس عن الحسن قال: من يوم يأتيها الخبر
Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the woman will begin her waiting period (iddah) from the day she receives the news.
Hadith 20027
٢٠٠٢٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبدة بن سليمان عن سعيد عن قتادة] (١) عن الحسن وخلاس في الرجل يطلق امرأته وهو غائب عنها قالا: تعتد من يوم يأتيها الخبر.
Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Khallas (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the woman will begin her waiting period (iddah) from the day she receives the news.
