Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) after her divorce, "O Messenger of Allah! I fear that I may be wronged in this house." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her permission to go to her family.

Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a woman who has been given three divorces, if she wishes, can observe her waiting period (iddah) anywhere except her husband's house.

Hazrat Habib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) about the place where a divorced woman should observe her waiting period (‘iddah), so he replied that she may observe her ‘iddah wherever she wishes. Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to say the same.

Hazrat Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I was married to a man from Banu Makhzum. He gave me an irrevocable divorce, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Go to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him). He is a blind man. Even if you need to remove your clothes, he will not be able to see anything.
