Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a slave woman is given two divorces and then she is set free before the completion of her waiting period, she will observe the waiting period prescribed for a slave woman.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that when a slave woman is given one divorce and then she is set free before the completion of her waiting period (‘iddah), she will observe the waiting period of a free woman. If she is given two divorces and then she is set free, she will observe the waiting period of a slave woman. The same ruling applies to a slave woman whose husband dies and then she is set free.

Hazrat Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when a man gives one divorce to his wife who was a slave woman, and then during her waiting period (iddah) she is set free, she will observe the waiting period of a free woman. And when he gives her two divorces and then she is set free, he cannot marry her again until she marries another man. Her waiting period will be that of a slave woman.

Hazrat Dahhak, may Allah have mercy on him, says that if a slave woman is given two divorces, then she is set free during her waiting period, she will observe the waiting period of two menstrual cycles. If she is given one divorce and is set free during her waiting period, she will observe the waiting period of three menstrual cycles, and her husband will have more right to her.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that her waiting period (‘iddah) will be the same as that of a free woman.

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a slave woman is given two divorces and then she is set free, her waiting period (iddah) will be that of a slave woman, and if she is set free after being given one divorce, her waiting period will be that of a free woman.
