Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then her waiting period is one and a half months.

Hazrat Said bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then she will observe a waiting period of one and a half months.

It is also narrated similarly from Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him.

Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then her waiting period will be one and a half months.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then her waiting period will be one and a half months.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then her waiting period will be one and a half months.

Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said that if I had the authority to fix the waiting period (‘iddah) of a slave woman as one and a half menstrual cycles, I would certainly have done so. A man said to him that if you fix their waiting period as one and a half months, it would be better. Upon this, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) remained silent.

Hazrat Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the waiting period (‘iddah) for a slave woman is two menstrual cycles. If she does not menstruate, then she will observe a waiting period of one and a half months.

Hazrat Dahhak (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a slave girl who is near puberty and does not menstruate, her waiting period (‘iddah) is forty-five days. If she menstruates, then her ‘iddah is one menstrual cycle.

Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a slave woman experiences menstruation, her waiting period (‘iddah) is two menstrual cycles, and if she does not menstruate, her waiting period is forty-five days.

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the waiting period ('iddah) of a slave woman is half of the waiting period of a free woman.
