Iddah of a Woman Who Has Taken Khul
Hadith 19482
١٩٤٨٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبدة بن سليمان عن سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن سعيد بن المسيب.
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) and Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) say that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a woman who has obtained khula‘ is like that of a divorced woman.
Hadith 19484
١٩٤٨٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا أبو معاوية عن هشام بن عروة قال: كان أبي يقول: تعتد ثلاث حيض، وهو أولى بخطبتها في العدة.
Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that she will observe the waiting period for three menstrual cycles, and the husband who granted khula has more right to propose marriage during the waiting period.
Hadith 19485
١٩٤٨٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا جرير وهشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: كل فرقة كانت بين الرجل والمرأة فعدتها عدة المطلقة.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that in every separation between a man and a woman, the waiting period (‘iddah) will be like the waiting period of a divorced woman.

١٩٤٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا هشيم عن يونس عن الحسن أنه كان يقوله.
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) also says the same.

١٩٤٨٧ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الوهاب عن عبيد اللَّه بن عمر عن سالم قال: عدتها ثلاث حيض] (١).
Hazrat Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that she will observe the waiting period of three menstrual cycles.
Hadith 19488
١٩٤٨٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع و (هشيم) (١) عن مالك بن مغول عن الشعبي قال: عدتها (ثلاثة) (٢) قروء.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that her waiting period is three menstrual cycles.
Hadith 19489
١٩٤٨٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن عبد الأعلى عن ابن الحنفية عن علي قال: عدة المختلعة عدة المطلقة (١).
Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a woman who has obtained khula‘ is equal to the waiting period of a divorced woman.

١٩٤٩٠ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن مهدي عن هشام عن قتادة عن سعيد وأبي عياض وخلاس قالوا: عدة المختلعة عدة المطلقة] (١).
Hazrat Saeed, Abu Ayyaz, and Khallas s say that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a woman who has obtained khula‘ or has undergone li‘an is like the waiting period of a divorced woman.
Hadith 19491
١٩٤٩١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا شبابة عن مالك بن أنس عن الزهري عن سعيد ابن المسيب وسليمان بن يسار (وغيوهم) (١) أنهم كانوا يقولون: عدة المختلعة عدة المطلقة ثلاثة قروء.
Many scholars state that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a woman who has obtained khul‘ is, like that of a divorced woman, three menstrual cycles.
