Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them) say that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then one divorce will take place and the man will have the right to take her back.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, three divorces will take place.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then three divorces will take place.

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then one divorce will take place.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Whatever has been said, that is what will happen.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then if the intention was for one, one divorce will occur; if the intention was for two, two divorces will occur; and if the intention was for three, three divorces will occur.

Hazrat Mak’hool (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman is declared "free of responsibility," then three divorces will take place.

Hazrat Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman is declared free of obligation, then the intention will be taken into account.

Hazrat Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then the intention will be taken into account.

Hazrat Amr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a man's wife insists on divorce from him, and he says to her, "Go, you are free from me and I am free from you," and he does not intend divorce by this, then what is the ruling? He replied: If he did not intend divorce, then divorce will not take place; and if he intended divorce, then one divorce will occur, and he will have the right to take her back during the waiting period (iddah).

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman is declared free from responsibility, then with the intention of divorce, at least one irrevocable divorce will take place, and if both wish, the man can marry her again. And if the intention was of three, then three divorces will take place.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says that if a woman is declared free of responsibility, then this counts as three divorces, and this woman is not lawful for him until she marries another man.

Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah have mercy on him) says that calling a woman "barī" (disassociated) and "azād" (free) is equivalent to three divorces.
