Those Scholars Who Say Divorce Occurs Immediately If a Time Period Is Specified
Hadith 18850
١٨٨٥٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا هشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: من وقت في الطلاق وقتًا فدخل (ذلك) (١) الوقت وقع الطلاق.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a specific period is fixed and divorce is given for that period, the divorce will take effect immediately.
Hadith 18851
١٨٨٥١ - حدثنا أبو بكر (قال) (١): (حدثنا) (٢) إسماعيل بن (عياش) (٣) عن عبيد اللَّه بن عبيد عن مكحول أنه كان يقول: حتى يجيء الأجل.
Hazrat Mak’hool (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a specific period is fixed and divorce is given for that period, the divorce will take effect immediately.
Hadith 18852
١٨٨٥٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا معمر بن سليمان الرقي عن عبد اللَّه بن بشر عن ابن عباس قال: (إلى الأجل) (١) (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that if a specific period is fixed and divorce is given for that period, the divorce will take effect immediately.
Hadith 18853
١٨٨٥٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا يزيد بن هارون عن حبيب عن عمرو قال: سئل جابر بن زيد عن رجل قال (لامرأته) (١): إذا أهللت شهر كذا وكذا فامرأتي طالق إلى رأس السنة، قال: أراها طالق إلى الأجل الذي سمى (وتحل) (٢) فيما دون ذلك.
Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a man says to his wife that when such-and-such month comes, my wife is divorced, then what is the ruling? He replied: When the specified time comes, then the divorce will take effect; until that time, the woman is lawful.
Hadith 18854
١٨٨٥٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عباد بن العوام عن عاصم بن كليب عن سلمة (ابن) (١) (نباتة) (٢) عن أبي ذر أنه قال لغلام له: هو عتيق إلى الحول (٣).
Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said about one of his slaves that he would be set free after one year.
