It Is Not Permissible for Men or Women to Sleep Together Under One Blanket
Hadith 18520
١٨٥٢٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا مروان بن معاوية عن الجريري عن أبي نضرة عن (الطفاوي) (١) عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا يباشر الرجل الرجل، ولا المرأة المرأة، (إلا) (٢) الوالد ولده (أو) (٣) (الولد) (٤) والده" (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No man should lie with another man under one blanket, and no woman should lie with another woman under one blanket. However, a father may lie with his son, and a son may lie with his father.
Hadith 18521
١٨٥٢١ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن أبي وائل عن (عبد اللَّه) (١) قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ أن تباشر المرأةُ المرأةَ في ثوب واحد (٢) أجل أن (تصفها) (٣) لزوجها (٤).
Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a woman should not lie with another woman under one sheet, lest she later describe her features to her husband.
Hadith 18522
١٨٥٢٢ - حدثنا زيد بن (الحباب) (١) عن الضحاك بن عثمان قال: (أخبرني) (٢) ⦗٤١⦘ زيد بن أسلم عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي سعيد الخدري عن أبيه أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: "لا تُفضي المرأة إلى المرأة في ثوب واحد، ولا الرجل إلى الرجل في ثوب واحد" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No woman should lie with another woman under one garment, and no man should lie with another man under one garment.
Hadith 18523
١٨٥٢٣ - حدثنا زيد بن حباب قال: (أخبرني) (١) يحيى بن أيوب المصري قال: أخبرني (عياش) (٢) بن عباس الحميري عن أبي الحصين الحجري الهيثم عن عامر الحجري قال: سمعت أبا ريحانة صاحب النبي ﷺ يقول: كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ ينهى عن معاكمة أو مكاعمة المرأة المرأة ليس بينهما شيء أو معاكمة (أو مكاعمة) (٣) الرجل الرجل في شعار ليس بينهما شيء (٤).
Hazrat Abu Raihanah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that any woman should lie with another woman or any man with another man in such a way that there is nothing between them.
Hadith 18524
١٨٥٢٤ - حدثنا أحمد بن عبد اللَّه عن (أبي) (١) شهاب عن ابن أبي ليلى عن أبي الزبير عن جابر قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ أن يباشر الرجل الرجل والمرأة المرأة (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that any man should lie with another man or any woman with another woman under one blanket. Hazrat Ibn Abi Laila (may Allah have mercy on him) says that in my opinion, the prescribed punishment (hadd) should be enforced for this act.
Hadith 18526
١٨٥٢٦ - حدثنا (عبيد اللَّه) (١) عن إسرائيل عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ أن يباشر الرجل الرجل والمرأة المرأة (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that any man should lie with another man under one blanket, or any woman with another woman under one blanket.
