Hadith 18425
Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us the sermon for prayer and for needs. The sermon for prayer is the tashahhud, and the sermon for needs is this: All praise is due to Allah, we seek His help, we seek His forgiveness, we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls. Whomever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomever He lets go astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is Allah’s servant and Messenger. Then he would recite three verses from the Noble Qur’an: Fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims. Fear Allah, about whom you ask one another, and (respect) the ties of kinship; indeed, Allah is ever an Observer over you. Fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins... After reciting this sermon, make your intention for your need.
