ما قالوا في نكاح الشغار
Ruling on Nikah Shighar (Exchange Marriage)
Hadith 18417
١٨٤١٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن نمير وأبو أسامة عن عبيد اللَّه بن عمر عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج عن أبي هريرة قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن الشغار، وزاد ابن نمير: الشغار أن يقول الرجل: زوجني ابنتك حتى أزوجك ابنتي، أو زوجني أختك (حتى) (١) أزوجك أختي (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Shighar marriage. Ibn Numair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Shighar marriage is when a man says, "Marry your daughter to me and I will marry my daughter to you," or "Marry your sister to me and I will marry my sister to you."
Hadith 18418
١٨٤١٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن موسى بن عبيدة عن عبد اللَّه بن دينار عن ابن عمر (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Shighar marriage.
Hadith 18420
١٨٤٢٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن (معقل) (١) عن عطاء عن النبي ﷺ بمثله (٢).
It is similarly narrated from Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him).
Hadith 18421
١٨٤٢١ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسرائيل عن إبراهيم (بن) (١) عبد الأعلى عن سويد ابن غفلة قال: كانوا يكرهون الشغار، (والشغار) (٢): الرجل (يزوج) (٣) الرجل على أن يزوجه بغير مهر (٤).
Suwaid bin Ghaflah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the predecessors disliked Nikah Shighar. Shighar is when a man marries off someone without a dowry on the condition that the other will marry off someone for him.
Hadith 18422
١٨٤٢٢ - حدثنا عمر عن ابن جريج عن عطاء في (المتشاغرين) (١) يقران على نكاحهما ويؤخذ لكل واحد منهما صداق.
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says regarding Nikah Shighar that their marriage will remain valid and both will receive the dowry.
Hadith 18423
١٨٤٢٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: نا حماد بن سلمة عن حميد عن الحسن عن (عمران) (١) بن حصين عن النبي ﷺ قال: لا (شغار) (٢) في الإسلام (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no Shighar marriage in Islam.
Hadith 18424
١٨٤٢٤ - حدثنا (عمر) (١) بن هارون عن ابن جريج عن أبي الزبير عن جابر أن النبي ﷺ (٢) نهى عن الشغار (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade shighar (exchange marriage).
