Prohibition of Earnings from Prostitution
Hadith 18392
١٨٣٩٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (حدثنا) (١) ابن عيينة عن الزهري عن أبي بكر عن (أبي) (٢) مسعود أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن مهر البغى (٣).
Hazrat Abu Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade earnings from immoral acts.
Hadith 18393
١٨٣٩٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: (حدثنا) أبان العطار قال: حدثني يحيى بن أبي كثير عن إبراهيم بن (قارظ) (١) عن (السائب) (٢) بن يزيد عن رافع بن خديج أن النبي ﷺ قال: "كسب الحجام (خبيث) (٣)، ومهر البغي (خبيث) (٤) " (٥).
Hazrat Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The earnings of the cupper are bad, and the earnings from adultery are bad.
Hadith 18394
١٨٣٩٤ - حدثنا شبابة عن شعبة عن عون بن أبي جحيفة عن أبيه قال: نهى رسول اللَّه ﷺ عن (كسب) (١) مهر البغي (٢).
Hazrat Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade earnings from immoral acts.
Hadith 18395
١٨٣٩٥ - حدثنا (١) الفضل بن دكين عن عبد (الجبار) (٢) بن عباس عن عون ⦗٦⦘ ابن أبي جحيفة عن أبيه (قال: نهى) (٣) رسول اللَّه رمَل عن مهر البغي (٤).
Hazrat Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade earnings from immoral acts.
Hadith 18396
١٨٣٩٦ - حدثنا (أبو) (١) معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي سفيان عن (جابر) (٢) في قوله: ﴿وَمَنْ يُكْرِهْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ﴾ قال: كان عبد اللَّه ابن أبي سلول يقول (لجاريته) (٣): أذهبي فابغينا شيئًا فأنزل اللَّه تعالى: ﴿وَلَا تُكْرِهُوا فَتَيَاتِكُمْ عَلَى الْبِغَاءِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِتَبْتَغُوا عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَنْ يُكْرِهْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ﴾ [النور: ٣٣] (٤).
Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says regarding the verse of the Holy Qur’an { وَمَنْ یُکْرِہْہُّنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّہَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إکْرَاہِہِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِیمٌ} that Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul used to tell his slave-girl to go and bring us earnings from prostitution. Upon this, Allah Almighty revealed this verse { وَلاَ تُکْرِہُوا فَتَیَاتِکُمْ عَلَی الْبِغَائِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِتَبْتَغُوا عَرَضَ الْحَیَاۃِ الدُّنْیَا وَمَنْ یُکْرِہْہُّنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّہَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إکْرَاہِہِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِیمٌ}
Hadith 18397
١٨٣٩٧ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم قال: كانوا يكرهون أن يتزوجوا على الدرهم و (الدرهمين) (١) مثل مهر البغي.
Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the predecessors used to dislike marrying for one or two dirhams, just as they disliked the earnings of an immoral woman.
Hadith 18398
١٨٣٩٨ - حدثنا علي بن (هاشم) (١) عن (ابن) (٢) أبي ليلى عن عطاء عن أبي هريرة أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن مهر البغي (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade earnings from immoral acts.
