Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zaid bin Wahb (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to us that no villager should marry a Muhajirah woman, lest he take her out of the abode of migration.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) considered it disliked for a villager to marry a Muhajirah.

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) considered it undesirable that a villager should marry a Muhajirah woman in order to take her away from the city.

Hazrat Rakeen’s (may Allah have mercy on him) father narrates that Manzoor bin Zabaan asked his maternal uncle for his daughter’s hand in marriage. (At that time, both of them were performing Hajj or Umrah.) His uncle replied, “Alright, when I return, I will arrange your marriage.” Meanwhile, the girl’s real brother married her to their maternal cousin, whose proposal had been agreed upon by her father there. When they returned, the girl was already married. Seeing this situation, he became very angry and said, “I am completely dissociated from this marriage.” I heard Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the marriage of emigrant women cannot be arranged with villagers.
