Hadith 18138
١٨١٣٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (نا) (١) محمد بن سواء عن ابن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن الحسن قال: لا يسعها أن (تقاره) (٢) حتى ترافعه إلى السلطان، فإما حد وإما ملاعنة.
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a man accuses his wife of adultery and then retracts his statement, it is not permissible for the woman to remain with that man. She should take the matter to the judge, and then either the prescribed punishment will be carried out on the man or there will be li'an (mutual cursing).
Hadith 18139
١٨١٣٩ - حدثنا محمد بن سواء عن سعيد عن أبي معشر عن إبراهيم قال: إذا (أكذب) (١) نفسه عند رهط (تساكنا) (٢) واستغفر ربه ولا يعود لذلك.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a group retracts their statement, then both should remain together, and a person should seek forgiveness from Allah and resolve not to do so again.
Hadith 18140
١٨١٤٠ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن ابن سالم عن الشعبي قال: إذا قذفها بالزنى إن شاء أكذب نفسه وجلد وردت إليه امرأته.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a man accuses his wife of adultery, then if he wishes, he may retract his statement, and the punishment of qazf will be carried out upon him, and that woman will remain his wife.
Hadith 18141
١٨١٤١ - حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش عن عبد العزيز بن (عبيد اللَّه) (١) عن الشعبي في الرجل يقذف امرأته (بالزنى) (٢) ثم لا ترافعه قال: يكذب نفسه وهما على نكاحهما.
Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says regarding the man who accuses his wife of adultery but does not present the matter before the judge's court, that if he retracts his statement, the marriage will remain intact.
