Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked: If a person owns a slave woman and her daughter, what is the ruling for him? Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I do not like that he has intercourse with both of them.

Hazrat Qais bin Abi Hazim says that I asked Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) if a person has intercourse with a slave woman and her daughter who are both in his possession, what is the ruling? He replied that one verse has made both of them forbidden and another has made them permissible. However, I would never do such a thing.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Niyar Aslami says that I had a slave woman, and she had a daughter with her. When her daughter became mature, I thought of leaving the slave woman and having intercourse with her daughter. I thought in my heart that I would never do this without asking Hazrat Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him). So I asked him, and he replied that I would never have relations with both of them.

Hazrat Mu'adh bin Ubaidullah bin Ma'mar asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I have a slave woman with whom I have had relations. She has a daughter who has become of age; can I have intercourse with her as well? Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) forbade him from this. I said to her, is she forbidden to me? If you say she is forbidden, I will not do so. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that none of my family or those who obey me have done such a thing. And I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he also forbade it.

Hazrat Aamir narrates that a man from Hamdan had a slave woman and her daughter. He used to have intercourse with both of them. This was reported to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He questioned the man about it, and the man admitted to doing so. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "One verse has made this lawful for you, but another verse has made it unlawful. Among them, the verse prohibiting it is more dominant."

Hazrat Ibn Munabbih states that it was written in the Torah revealed to Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him): "Cursed is the one who exposes the private parts of a woman and her daughter." There was no detail in it as to whether the woman was free or a slave.

Hazrat Abu Nadrah narrates that once a man came to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "I have a slave woman and her daughter, and I wish to have intercourse with both of them. Is it permissible to do so?" Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "One verse has made it lawful and another has made it unlawful. However, I would not even go near such an act."

Hazrat Saeed says that it is not permissible for a man to combine a woman and her daughter or her sister.
