Hazrat Zuhri was asked: If a woman is deceived regarding a slave, and she believed him to be free while he was actually a slave, what is the ruling? He replied: The woman will have the choice.

Hazrat Amr narrates that Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid was asked: If a slave comes to a people and tells them that he is free, and they marry him to a free woman, and later they find out that he was a slave and the woman was deceived, what should be done? Hazrat Jabir replied: When she comes to know, she has the choice to stay with him if she wishes, or to separate from him if she wishes. The man will have no right over the woman.
