Hadith 16772
١٦٧٧٢ - حدثنا (عبد اللَّه) (١) بن إدريس عن مطرف عن الحكم قال: قال ⦗١٨٦⦘ شريح: إذا أنكح الرجل ابنه وهو صغير جاز عليه فإذا بلغ فإن طلق فنصف المهر على الذي كفل به.
Hazrat Shurayh says that if a person arranges the marriage of his minor child, it is permissible. However, when the child reaches maturity and gives divorce, then half of the dowry will be obligatory upon the child's guardian.
Hadith 16773
١٦٧٧٣ - حدثنا هشيم عن يونس عن الحسن قال: الصداق على الابن.
Hasan says it will be obligatory on the Mahram child.
Hadith 16774
١٦٧٧٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة قال: سألت (الحكم) (١) وحمادًا عن الرجل يزوج ابنه وهو صغير، قال (الحكم) (٢): على (الابن) (٣).
Hazrat Sha’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam and Hazrat Hammad about a person who arranges the marriage of his minor child: upon whom is the dowry (mahr) obligatory? Hazrat Hakam said that the dowry is obligatory upon the boy. Hazrat Hammad said that it is obligatory upon the father. It is narrated from Hazrat Qatadah that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the dowry is obligatory upon the one for whom you arranged the marriage, i.e., the boy.
Hadith 16777
١٦٧٧٧ - حدثنا حميد عن الحسن عن (مجالد) (١) عن الشعبي قال: هو على الأب.
Hazrat Sha'bi says that in this case, the dowry is obligatory upon the father.
