Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah Mukarramah from the side of Thaniyyatul-Ulya.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that if I enter Makkah from its lower side, I do not mind (that is, I do not feel any objection in it).

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah from the direction of the upper mountains and departed from the direction of the lower mountains.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would leave Madinah Munawwarah, he would depart from the direction of Masjid Shajarah (Dhul-Hulaifah), and when he would enter Madinah Munawwarah, he would enter from the place of Ma‘arris (the resting place). And when he would enter Makkah Mukarramah, he would enter from the direction of the upper mountains, and when he would leave Makkah Mukarramah, he would depart from the direction of the lower mountains.
