If Someone Assumes Ihram for Both Hajj and Umrah, Which Should He Begin With?
Hadith 16502
١٦٥٠٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن يحيى بن أبي إسحاق عن أنس أنه سمع رسول اللَّه ﷺ يلبي يقول: "لبيك بعمرة وحج" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Abu Ishaq that Hazrat Anas states that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the talbiyah in this manner: "Labbayk for Umrah and Hajj," (mentioning Umrah first).
Hadith 16503
١٦٥٠٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن مهدي (عن سفيان) (١) عن (بكير) (٢) بن عطاء عن حريث بن سليم قال: سمعت عليًا لبى بالحج والعمرة (فبدأ بالعمرة) (٣)، فقال له عثمان: إنك ممن ينظر إليه (فقال له علي: وأنت ممن ينظر إليه) (٤) (٥).
Hazrat Harith bin Salim narrates that I heard Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) recite the talbiyah for Hajj and Umrah together and begin with Umrah. Hazrat Usman said to him that you are among those to whom people look (whose actions are considered as proof). Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) replied to him that you too are among those to whom people look.
Hadith 16504
١٦٥٠٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن حميد عن أنس أنه سمع النبي ﷺ يقول: "لبيك بعمرة (وحج) (١) " (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Yahya bin Abu Ishaq that Hazrat Anas states that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the talbiyah in this manner: "Labbayka bi 'umratin wa hajj" (mentioning 'umrah first).
Hadith 16505
١٦٥٠٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن مهدي عن سفيان عن منصور قال: سألت إبراهيم ومجاهدًا عن الرجل يلبي بالحج والعمرة، فقال مجاهد: يبدأ بالعمرة.
Hazrat Mansur says that I asked Ibrahim and Hazrat Mujahid whether a person can recite the talbiyah for Hajj and Umrah together? Hazrat Mujahid said that he should begin with Umrah, and Ibrahim said that his intention will suffice for him.
